Furniture Quotation Checklist: Confirm the Details Before Ordering

A furniture quotation is easier to compare when the product specifications are clear. Two tables can have a similar silhouette but different tabletop materials, base construction, finishes or packing arrangements. Before comparing prices, check that each quotation refers to the same requirements.

This checklist covers dining tables, coffee tables, side tables and dining chairs. Use it to organise the details you already know; you do not need to have every specification ready before contacting us.

1. Identify the design and dimensions

Start with a product name, model reference or product link. Add the dimensions you need, or ask for the available dimensions if you are still choosing a model. For tables, distinguish between fixed and extendable designs. For an extension table, request both closed and extended dimensions rather than relying on a single size.

For chairs, review overall width and depth, seat height and the relationship between the chair and table. A chair that looks suitable in a photograph may not fit the intended table clearance or seating layout.

Browse our dining tables, coffee tables and side tables, and dining chairs to shortlist designs.

2. Specify the actual material

State whether the selected top is natural marble, sintered stone, glass or another specified material. A colour name alone is not enough to identify the construction. For example, travertine sintered stone should be recorded as sintered stone, not assumed to be natural travertine. Natural marble should be described as marble, not marble-look.

Also confirm the base or frame material for the chosen model. Do not assume that all gold-coloured frames have the same material or construction. If a material alternative is requested, ask whether it is available for that particular design before treating it as part of the quotation.

3. Match finish references, not just colour names

Gold, champagne and bronze can describe several different appearances. A polished finish and a brushed finish may look quite different even when they share a colour name. Record the finish reference and the intended surface appearance together.

For coordinated furniture, list the pieces that should match. A dining table, coffee table and console table may need to be reviewed as a set rather than ordered independently. Upholstered chairs also need a fabric or colour reference, not simply “beige”. Explore our materials and finishes when preparing your selection.

4. Clarify quantity and what the quotation includes

Quantity helps define the requested order, but it should not replace a clear specification. Check which models and finishes are included, whether the price refers to a single piece or a set, and how any requested changes are recorded.

Ask for the applicable minimum order quantity, quotation validity, sample arrangements and payment terms. These details should be confirmed for the selected products; do not assume that one model’s terms apply to the whole collection.

5. Review samples, packing and assembly

If a finish or fabric needs approval, ask which sample options are available and how the approved reference will be identified. A photograph is useful for discussion, but lighting and screen settings can affect its appearance.

For delivery planning, request the packing dimensions, gross weight and assembly information applicable to the selected design. Clarify whether the table ships assembled or requires assembly. For stone and glass tops, ask about the packing arrangement for that model rather than assuming all tables use the same method.

6. Confirm timing and delivery scope

Separate the requested delivery date from the production schedule. Confirm when the production period begins, which specifications still require approval, and what delivery or freight services are included in the quotation. Production time and transport time should not be treated as the same thing.

If you have a destination or project deadline, include it in the discussion so the available arrangements can be reviewed. Keep the final specifications and commercial terms together with the quotation to make later comparisons easier.

Questions Before Requesting a Furniture Quote

Do I need a complete specification before contacting SRF LIVING?

No. A product link and a brief description of what you are looking for are a useful starting point. You can ask for the available dimensions, materials and finishes before preparing a detailed requirement.

Can I request a different material or finish?

You can ask about alternatives. Availability depends on the selected design, so the relevant options should be confirmed before they are included in the quotation.

What should I compare besides price?

Compare the specified materials, dimensions, finish references, quantity, packing, assembly requirements and agreed delivery scope. A lower price does not necessarily describe the same product or the same services.
